Conservatives need SOMEBODY that won't roll over and play dead for every liberal agenda that's thrown at them. Roy Moore may rub some people wrong but I believe he has his heart in the right place. And he's a LONG damn ways from anything close to an all out racist Al Sharpton.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Roy is a jackass. He either needs to honor the law or go to the pulpit if he wants to grandstand.

When I saw this on the news last night I was laughing out loud. He is nothing but a political opportunist and he couldn't let this one get by him.

I'll be the first to agree that Roy Moore loves the spotlight. Wanting attention is about the same thing as having lots of hubris.

However, on the issue of forcing the legalizing gay marriage in Alabama I agree with him wholeheartedly. Judge Moore is honoring the law, not necessarily the US District Judge.

Moore's quote in Yellowhammer today:
Theres nothing in the US Constitution that authorizes the Supreme Court of the United States or any federal court anywhere to misinterpret the word marriage to include something outside that, Moore said recently. Whether its about the equal protection clause, the due process clause, or the full faith and credit clause, theyre making these things up and theyre ruling on social matters quote to me the Constitutional provision that gives the United States government the power to redefine marriage? You cant find it.

Our US Constitution is LIMITED in power and scope, reserving the rest of the power and decision making to the states. Alabama clearly voiced its wishes in 2006 by statewide referendum: 81% voted to define marriage as between one man and one woman.

When Federal judges step outside of their scope and authority, it takes leadership that respects the US Constitution and Alabama Constitution to stand up, stand firm, and cause trouble.

God designed marriage as one man and one woman and He alone instituted the covenant of marriage. Governments the world over have accepted this as right. With the rise of the Progressive Movement we can see their work at sanitizing things of God from our culture. Redefining marriage is simply another part of that plan.

I'll be the first to agree that "marriage" has already been dealt mighty blows and all one has to do is look at the issues of adultery, infidelity, divorce, broken homes, absent fathers and etc... Marriage for many is not sacred. But for many, including myself, the redefining of marriage to be between homosexual couples is wrong and should not be allowed.

Those without a Biblical Worldview will most likely see zero wrong with gay marriage and may even opine that "religious" talk has no place in the issue at all. I'd expect nothing else.

Our nation was founded upon Honor, Virtue and Goodness as well as Liberty. It has always been inherently understood that we have freedom and liberty to pursue those ideals that are also honorable, virtuous and good. Pursuits that are outside of those ideals have been typically without the fullness of Liberty. Example: Making money and even greed are allowable pursuits, until it crosses the threshold into wrong doing. Gay marriage is similar: People have the liberty to pursue their own sexual identity but there is nothing honorable, virtuous or good about gay marriage and it crosses the threshold into wrong doing. That's my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Gay marriage should be decided by a popular vote in the state. We voted it down and a judge has ruled that we have to allow it. Roy is another judge that says we shouldn't. So are you guys saying that one judge can tell us what to do but Roy Moore can't stand against what the other judge did? Where is the justice in that?

This is now - unfortunately - a federal court matter. All Moore can do is grandstand. Which he enjoys. When Moore was elected, he took a job with Caesar. He must render to Caesar.

He took an oath to render to Caesar. No options as long as he is working for Caesar or he violates his oath.

The Constitution isn't Caesar's, it is the people's. I don't really get the whole rendering argument and its application here, but carry on.

Show me someone else in this state who is willing to do what he is doing. Don't claim to be conservative minded and scream into the darkness for someone to stand up for the voices of the conservatives and degrade the only one who is shining the light.

Moore took an oath to uphold Alabama - and, by extension, federal - law. He has a habit of bending the law to his preferences, as shown by the midnight ride of the ten commandments display. Really, the guy once stabbed himself with a knife in evidence during a trial early in his legal career.

Roy Moore Is following the law in this case. and may be the only one willing to stand up against the Fed judges breaking the law. This is a man we need for President of the United States.

Even if he is grandstanding I am glad he is doing it. I hate to see the day when opposing voices stay silent just because Caesar speaks.

He is wrong legally and he knows it. It is going to end up costing him his judgeship again and that is a shame because he is a good appellate judge.

Gay marriage is not a popularity contest and the majority doesn't get to rule. If a popular vote ruled the law in this country (it never has and we are not designed that way), then segregation might still be legal.

You guys are letting your religious views cloud your judgment. This countries laws are designed to protect the minority as much as the majority. If doesn't work to say that something should not be legal because you don't like it.

The issue of discrimination against homosexuals should not be decided based upon a biblical ideal, but rather an equal protection under the law ideal. It is an equal protection issue.

Everyone wants to scream because the word marriage is used. No one can honestly say that the use of the word marriage by homosexuals makes your marriage or any heterosexual marriage mean less.

I am tired of people projecting their beliefs on others. Because you believe it is wrong, no one should be able to do it. It is not the place of anyone to project their version of morality on others.

Give me a break, this issue is not about a word, it is about protection committed gay life partners, lover, husbands and husband or how ever else you want to put it. so that they can get the same benefits and protections as heterosexual married couples.

On a side note. Most of your religious conservatives would be very surprised to read Moore's appellate opinions. He is very pro plaintiff, anti business and is very much on the side of the criminal defendant.

Finally I will say this. Moore knows that he is bound by the decision of the Federal Court. When the 11th circuit (the most conservative circuit in the country) and the USSC refuse to overrule the decision, it should tell you something. When a state law is in conflict with federal law or a federal court president, then the state law is no longer valid. He knows this and he also knows that this summer the USSC is going to rule in a gay marriage case and strike down the ban for the entire country.
