My goals each year are the same. Have a safe and successful season and try to spend some time in the woods with my dad and grandad. I don't set goals as far as birds go other than my goal is to try and kill at least 1 bird a year, after that 1st one the rest are all bonuses. But I have a couple goals this year that normally i don't. Take my 6 year old daughter out on more than just the youth hunt and try my damnedest to get her her 1st bird. And also take both kids out, my son is 3, he did way better than expected during deer season, my goals with him are to just go, have great time and hear birds. And finally help my grandad get a bird this year. He's slowing down and each spring he talks as if it were his last.'needless to say this is a pretty tough task, because basically it's got to be picture perfect for him to shoot. He doesnt maneuver easily at all, and especially more so the last several years. If his guns at 12 o'clock and the bird slips in at 3 o'clock he can not turn just that lil amount to make the shot. Regardless of the outcome he and I will have a great time, we always do, I'd just like to see the ol' man bust a beak!!
