I did some studying on them last night and seems like they average around 12lbs but will get up to 20lbs.

They looked prime to me Jon! That makes 9 I've caught this week and they were all in good shape.

Glad to see you've been doing some good Hank. I'm so bummed I haven't even run a line this year. Between work and a little one on the way I haven't had consecutive days to even try to run one.

I know what you mean Cole! I'm actually working a shutdown on night shift and running mine when I get off in the mornings. It's tough and makes for some very long nights but I had put these jobs off as long as I could.

Good deal North40R, maybe the market will be in good shape when you go to sell them.

Finally got my traps set this afternoon. Put out 8 coon sets and 4 dirt hole sets. Hope I can start contributing to this thread tomorrow.

Dang work is going to get in the way this season. Planning on setting/baiting my line on Friday evening, then check Sat/Sun, and trip them after checking Sunday morning. Really wish I could keep it out the whole time, but just not going to happen.

Nothing today. Beavers are either gonna rebuild dams or relocate this weekend because I've got some water flowing out of their ponds right now.

Came up empty as well. I did kill 3 hogs yesterday and cabled 2 of them off to a tree today. Soon as the rain passes I will set some traps near them.

K I hope you have better luck using bait piles than I have. I've got 2 piles of beaver carcasses rotting right now and I haven't seen a dang coyote track around them yet.

All I ever caught doing that was buzzards. Those were some stinking traps to clean after buzzards crapping on them all day too.

I was hoping to get the traps back far enough to avoid the buzzards and hawks. They are in a strip of pines 8 rows wide that divides a field and at the intersection of two trails through the pines. The is coyote scat on one trail near the hogs so they do occasionally use the trail.

I only caught one dummy this morning!

Note to self: A Sleepy Creek 4.5 double long spring will bite through leather gloves with rubber gauntlets over them.

Both places that I'm trapping have drained down to the point that I'm having to move traps each morning to keep them in water.
