Wear whatever boots you enjoy and get a pair of the shin gaters if you're worried about snakes. This for me! I usually wear either my non insulated danner boots or a good pair of hiking boots. When I do worry about snakes; then get the gaiters out.

Noninsulated Red Head Bayou...  Just finished my 3rd deer season with mine and still going strong. Had a zipper tab break on one,but just put a key ring on it and been good since. Great boot for the price

Great boot for the price Same here. I've wore mine deer hunting as well. My zipper broke during last turkey season and I took them back to BPS and got a brand new pair, no receipt and no questions asked. I have no complaints

After reading numerous reviews on multiple snake boots it looks like we can find a pair that is light, comfortable and fairly durable for a reasonable price ($100-$150). They just are not water tight or do not stay that way long. Has anybody turkey hunted or done similar rigirous outdoor activites in a pair of gor-tex socks? Can you cross streams/shin deep backwater/ect without getting your tootsies wet? How do they hold up? Do they breathe well enough to hunt the majority of the day in?

I bought 2 pairs of the boots that were posted on here a while back. So far I like them except for the loose top. I have one.pair broke in pretty good after doing yard fork in them several times. I'm going to break them both in and then treat them again before season. I'll take all 3 pairs wherever I go I imagine. I like fresh socks and boots at lunch if I am walking a lot.

I got a pair of VaprTrek by Irish Setter last year. They're a little pricey, but they're the most comfortable boots I own... feels like wearing tennis shoes. I've worn them all deer season too. http://hunt.irishsetterboots.com/irishse...reen-camouflage

I wish Muck would start offering the Woody Armor again (I assume they're discontinued since they're no longer on the site) but make them "officially" snake proof instead of just "puncture resistant"

Yekrut, if i remember correctly, you were one of the first ones to buy the cabela pull ons that were on sale, so did i. How are you treating your boots, with mink oil? I thought about some of the silicone spray that you spray on tents.

Last year was my first season wearing the Lacrosse Alpha Mud-Lite Snake boots and I was very pleased with them. I found them to be about as comfortable as any other rubber boots. They are a little stiff but that comes with wearing a snake boot. I have a pair of Rocky zip up snake boots but they are anything but waterproof. A heavy dew will soak through those boots.

Never wore snake boots during turkey season. Me too. I wear the Mucks when its wet or I might have to wade a creek. I often switch to a hybrid boot/tennis shoe in the afternoon. Don't give snakes a thought.

Cabelas zip fronts and my son the Cabelas slip ons that were on sale before Christmas. Both seem to be very good boots.

I've got the Lacrosse mud lites and they are very confortable. The only problem i have is if it's the least bit warm i minazwell jus go barefooted becasue my feet sweat so bad.
