My Rocky Rattler boots are no longer waterproof and I'm thinking about buying a new pair of waterproof snake boots. What do you guys suggest and what should I stay away from?

Got me, I have had zero luck finding a good boot that will last and be waterproof. Bought new boots last year that are tough and snake proof and water proof but they continually make my heels bleed. I'm opting to just wear comfortable boots now. Worry about the snakes when that happens.

Redhead Bone-Dry 16" waterproof Bayou Zip is what I have and they are really comfortable, had no issues with them rubbing my feet but they are hot, but I imagine a lot of snake boots are. I've had them for going on 5 years and they are still in good shape

Wear whatever boots you enjoy and get a pair of the shin gaters if you're worried about snakes.

I love everything about the Rattlers except wet feet and they are discontinued. Best summer work boot/Turkey chasers in my opinion. They are running shoe light/comfortable, rugged and the side zipper makes them a breeze to take on and off.

X2. Expensive but cheaper in the long run. I got about 5-6 yrs of heavy hunting out of mine before they leaked, and the only reason is because I wore through the inner goretex liner.

Been through LaCrosse, Redhead, Rocky's etc. and can't find one that will keep your foot dry.

I'm going on 3 seasons of bow and turkey hunting with these Lacrosse Adder Scent HDs. Not bad but not great either. Still waterproof but not especially comfortable. If I was buying some today I'd look at the newer lacrosse rubber snake boots. alpha mudlite is what I think they're called. Lacrosse Adder Scent HD:  Alpha Mudlite:

Bought a pair of the cabela's pull on snakeboots that were on sale for $53, regular $140. Haven't worn them outside yet. IMO, buy an expensive pair, or buy cheap ones and get new ones every 2-3 years. All of them are made oversea's now, so the quality sux.

Homer those Alpha mudlites are the ones that rubbed my feet from the get go. May work better for others but the inside liner rubbed off then the rubber was exposed and rubs my heels.

I HATED my Lacrosse Adder's, they didnt make a few weeks before I kept getting water in them. Then when they would leak, it would take me seriously 10-15 minutes trying to pull them off. I had enough of that and took my knife and cut them off.

I bought the turtle skin snake chaps. They are more expensive than other chaps, but are soft and pliable.

I wear Lacrosses about 9 months out the year. I don't worry about water proof. Most of the time I am sweating so much anyway. But, they do wear real good.

I know they are made to your exact foot measurements, but I took a chance and got a pair in my size without having them custom made and waiting 6 weeks. I got them in and they fit, other than the calf was too big (hence the custom measurements), however the moccasin style did not set right with the arch in my foot. Very uncomfortable and I don't think a custom measurement would have corrected it. Just didn't work for me. I sent them back, no issues. I had wanted a pair of these for probably 10 yrs and was disappinted they didn't work out for me.
