At that close range its above its comfort zone as far as staying together...Every polymer tipped bullet is NOT a NBT. NBT are designed to come part with controlled expansion...bang *poof* that what they're meant to do...Thats why Nosler created the Accu Bond..

SSTs are a lot tougher but can disintegrate at close ranges...
I currently use a Hornady Interbond, which is also polymer tipped...I have never had one pass thru...even at 20 yards...which happened this year MOF...killed one at 200, one at 20...both had pass thru and incredible internal destruction but exit hole itself was impressive...but it donkey stomped Bambi...

As far as the most nasty entry AND exit wounds as far as a bullet has been the Sierra Game Kings...entry brusing in huge and exits look like horror movie stuff...
Hornady doesn't make my rounds any more...Im gonna reload some Sierra Game Kings and some Accubonds which I havent tried before...best group gets to hunt next year...

I love SST's as well. I shoot a super performance Hornady 165 gr. 300 win mag. Bang/flop about 99% of the time. Most times i get a pass thru and have massive wound channels. The 2 bucks i killed this year, i didn't have a pass thru, the first one was a high shoulder shot and he hit the ground and never even kicked. The second one was angling away. It enter in front of the left hindquarter and traveled to the off shoulder and he went down like you hit him in the head with a hammer. I've probably killed over 100 deer with the Hornady SST, and never had a problem.
