One of my goals is to go on a DIY elk hunt and kill one. I don't care if it's a satellite bull. Congrats.

First Nice rack buck bow kill!! I can now retire the 20yr old PSE Carroll(little deal I made myself). Come on Hoyt Nitrum 34!! Buck or Doe: 8pt Date:01.03.2015 Time:11:00AM ...right after the rain stopped. State & County: Bullock County, AL Stand location details: Lock-on in a hard wood bottom between planted pines. Pouring rain all morning then as soon as it stopped the deer flood gates opened. Small 8pt walked by trailing some does. Let him walk. Then I glassed a 130" 10pt off at 80yds going away. Then this guy came sloshing up through the flood water. He walked right under my stand. I drew back and hit the 'drop shot spot' and he fell straight to the ground. All I could do was stair at my shaking hands & him for about 10min. What a great hunt!!! YES!!! Big thumbs up to John, Craig, Paul & Al!! Shot distance: 10 yards Distance to recovery: ZERO yards Weather conditions: Pouring Cats & Dawgs Equipment used: 20yr old PSE Carroll, Gold Tip Arrows & Slick Trick Magnums
