This morning I saw a total of 15 deer. Five bucks, one that was probably a 3.5 yo, 8 point with about a 16" spread. The other bucks were smaller, only the 6 point was following a doe. All of the deer except one were seem after 9am.
I sat for 8 mornings and 5 evening hunts and saw no deer at all 7-20 Jan. Wednesday morning, just ahead of the front that brought the rain I started seeing deer. The deer in my area are definitely starting to move more. The bucks seem to be in the "Search Phase" now, they were checking the edges of a pasture and a shallow draw.
I saw six of the deer this morning on the 1.2 mi walk back to the truck. On the drive back to the house had a doe run across the road.
A week ago I was confident that there were no deer in Southeast Al.
