Need some opinions fellas. We have a member who pays for 1 membership. His wife, who is not a member, has killed 1 buck and he has killed 2. Should either of them be allowed to kill another buck or is that membership tagged out in your opinion?

I think it would depend on what your rules say.

All depends on the rules agreed upon. Unless specifically stated then yes they should both keep hunting.

I would guess it would be in the rules. May not be though. Ours has 3 bucks per paying member whether family or anyone else kills them. I would imagine you tell him now, it's gonna cause a stink if not clearly stated.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

What do the rules say? We have a 3 bucks per member (state law) and 4 bucks per PAID membership.

If you had a rule in place from the beginning saying each membership gets 3 bucks, then yes. If not, then no.

I think our club rules say 2 bucks per membership, but it would depend on what your rules say.

Well I don't think it's addressed in the rules. I dunno if they haven't been updated since the 3 buck bag limit or what. I'm a new member in this club and it's a controversy that's brewing..

By law they're both allowed three a piece.... If you dont have a rule against it...it's fine...even if you disagree with it... Bring it up in a club meeting if y'all do that and address it there...

I'll add that it depends on what the club rules are.

Imo, she needs to be paying. In my opinion your an idot but that's beside the point. If it's not defined in the rules live with it. We have a member that has killed 4-5 bucks on one membership including several first deer "spikes" and legal deer. We can't say a thing to him since it is open in the rules.

Why am I the idiot for suggesting a hunter pay their way?
Really
Might be why my club runs smooth and so many here don't.

The rule needs to be specific...in my club we have a guy that paid his money, and wife and 2 kids hunt free, which I have no problem with at all. But it does bother me that they have killed 9 "bucks" with biggest one being a 2 year old 6 point....on top of that the land had GREAT Genetics. Just sucks, but the rules are rules.

Should either of them be allowed to kill another buck or is that membership tagged out in your opinion? IMO the club needs to expand the rules to eliminate these questions before next season.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm just gonna suggest it be addressed at the end of the season. Apparently the lady retired this year so she's hunting every weekend with her husband and that's why it's becoming an issue. I personally don't like it since these memberships cost a couple grand apiece but there's nothing I can do about it right now I guess.
