Well we had a lot of fun today, but not the best day by no means. To start off with, I left my Garmin at home, I forgot the receiver, had the collars, but not the handheld.. SO, we went old school with the quick track collars.. Then the dogs got off us twice, we was very fortunate the guy caught the dog and called us, both times.. It was a very unusual day for sure. The deer ran different than they have all year. Really hated they got off us, but the second time, they ran a good 7 point by the guy, and he was fortunate enough to kill him, put a good shot on him also. But I still wasn't happy about the dogs crossing off our land. But all in all we had a great season. I seen some huge bucks this year, could have "shot" at some, but didn't have any good shots on them, so just let them go. So we already starting for next year, I am gonna order another GPS collar to go with my two. It was the first time I had forgot my GPS, and i realized just how important that thing is. I could see exactly where the dogs was fixing to cross off our land, and we could pinpoint them to stop them, but not today. It was my fault, I take all the blame for it, I shouldn't have left the GPS at home on accident. BUT turns out it was a ALdeer member that caught our dogs, I took a picture of his deer, but I won't post it without his permission. Once again Jamie, I do apologize for the dogs getting on you, but thanks for being understanding. Atleast you got you a deer out of the deal.. laugh Now, its time to kill some rabbits and catch some crappie, anybody want to go, just get with me. No matter how much I love deer dogging I still respect how anybody hunts, and hated that the dogs got off us. Even though he still killed a deer out of the deal, thats still is their land, and they shouldn't have had dogs on it.. SO again I do apologize for it. We always have tried and will do better job, so this won't happen any more.. Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season.. thumbup
