I worked at the Liberty Park Fire Station for 7 years. We put a few deer in the freezer every year. They'd get hit in front of the station and we'd be tasked with removing from the road. They went straight to the back, hung from a tree, cleaned and popped in the freezer.
There are deer everywhere in Liberty Park.
Also off Overton Road near Mt. Brook High School, we ran a call one night about 1am. There was a herd of deer (literally like on the movie "I am Legend". I'd guess there were between 20 and 30 deer in two front yards. The truck scared them and they ran straight up the street in front of us. They split at the T intersection and about 15 stayed in front of us until we arrived on scene. They continued on down the street.
I'd never seen so many in one place, ever. Not seen that many since.
Wisteria Dr. between Rocky Ridge and Lorna Road, there are a ton of deer that you only see at night.
Also up near Vestavia Hills High school we've had guys call turkey up into the parking lot.
Ya'll would be shocked how many are around populated areas.
