I stopped watching when he said he was doing it for "awareness" of the dwindling rain forest.
They been cuttin trees down there as long as I can remember.
Apparently they grow back.

I'm just about ready to write off the Discovery Channel.

It's not being cleared to grow back. It's being cleared for farming so it's not growing back. A lot of it is being cleared to grow soybeans.....south America is a major player in global soybean production and getting bigger.

Same thing we did with the longleaf forest in Alabama. Whether it's right or wrong I don't know.

After hearing it for so long I've become skeptical.
The whole rainforest was supposed to be gone a decade ago.

I don't remember hearing that it would be gone a decade ago but it wouldn't surprise me that was said since the media dramatizes just about everything, but you can look on google earth and decide for yourself if there is less forest than there was and how fast it is being cleared.
