I'm watching the outdoor channel and all these hunting show personalities call where they hunt a farm. I even hear it on the radio where they call their farm a weekend get away. I've often wondered about that. Having worked on a farm and it was some of the hardest work I've ever done I never thought of it as sport or hobby like deer hunting. Unless they are row cropping for harvest and not to feed deer only. What do y'all call where you hunt? A farm or hunting land.

Everybody north of Tennessee calls it a farm even when they just lease it to hunt. Some of it may actually get tilled but even if it don't they still refer to it as a "farm". Not sure why but they do

When you get up into farm country a lot of the hunting is on farms. Some of it may not have crops but be in crp.

90% of what I hunt has cattle on it. Chambers and Randolph. So I always call it the farm. But when I was in a club in Cleburne county, I called it a club.

We call the land we own the farms and what we lease "the lease". We don't dpfarm anything but deer on it but it is still the farm. We farm cattle on the farm I grew up on and deer on the rest.

Like the place I hunt. It once was a working farm but now all in crp. This Pat and Nicole said they live in Florida but have a farm ( deer hunting land ) some place else.

A farm provides income from growing a commodity or raising animals to be sold for market. Hunting land is a recreational spot to go relax and get away from the farm. Or at least that's what I do.

I have always called our place a farm, as we used to have cattle.

We grow trees now.

And if I say I'm going hunting tonight it means with a Q beam and 4 wheel drive truck. If I say I'm going this afternoon it means daylight.

My place was an active farm for many, many years. I've grown some field corn, peas and watermelons on it recently but not for profit. It's where I hunt but I call it the farm.

Oh! And some sugar cane.

A farm is where crops grow. If you hunt that your hunting a farm, if not your not.

We have always called ours the farm. 2 actually, 400 acres in Hardeman Co, TN and 500 in Hale Co, AL. The one in TN had row crops for yrs but then wasn't farmed at all for probably 20-25 (basically my entire life). We now allow a couple of neighbors to farm crops on part of it. The place in AL has never had anything but cattle on it and that's been years.

But I've always called them "The Farm" and I ain't changing now.
