I do not want to haul my BBB back and forth all the time. What is the best way to secure it at camp where it can't be stolen?

Some of the guys I used to hunt with would rent a mini-storage unit somewhere nearby and split the cost.

Find a spot off the beaten path in the woods. Preferably a big hedge bush. Cut just enough out so that you can pull it in and the limbs cover you from the rear. Cover it with a camo tarp and chain it to a tree. I think the hiding spot it is the most important. If you hide it good enough, the chaining part shouldn't matter. This is what we do and have never had a problem.

my buddy would hide his atv in the woods a couple hundred yards from camp about 100yds off the road over a little rise. chain it to a tree and put a tarp over it. out of site out of mind.

Barry -
1. Dig a 4' deep hole - use a 3-point post hole digger
2. Get a 12' piece of logging chain
3. Put chain in hole centering with a pipe - leaving 8' available to connect to ATV/UTV
4. Fill hole with concrete
5. Buy GOOD lock and wrap chain around axle and lock (park the ATV/UTV as close or even on top of the buried chain).
If thieves are determined, they can cut the lock or the chain with a hydraulic cutter, but they won't be able to cut with handheld bolt/wire cutters AND the concrete will not move. If they are REALLY determined - they are going to get it regardless of what you do.

I have a Japanese mini truck and one year I'd pull through our gate at the sign in box and drive it about 30 yards off in some young pines where you couldn't see it from the road,if I were you I'd keep my insurance up and get several big chains and chain it to something,make them work for it if they are gonna steal it

Take a tire and the battery home with you. You can put alarms on them as well as a tracking chip if ya want to spend a little money.

Hidin it out away from the general camp area and camo tarp is good idea.
also if it has disc brakes on it.. The rotors usually have 5/16" holes drilled in them for cooling. I bought longer shackled padlocks and put one thru a hole in each rotor.
If anyone tries to get it lock will hit caliper and stop it from rolling. Where the rear rotor on my honda is mounted its almost impossible to get in their with bolt cutters to cut the lock off it.

Id take a cable off of the battery bank and kept it hid in the woods along with a big cable and lock. Just make sure its more than 100 yards from the camp.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

If I could afford one, I could either:
1) afford insurance to cover theft
2) afford the gas to haul it home and back
3) find a storage facility close by or on the way
No way I would leave it exposed to the elements outside, chained anywhere. That's just me though.

I left my 4 wheeler hid in a briar patch close to hunting camp for 2 seasons and no one ever got it. you gotta think, if someone is poaching then they aint gonna beat the briar patches, if they are stealing then they are gonna hit the club house and anything close within view. they aint gonna say, hey lets go walk through this grown up cutover and look for atv's.
