On post we have to bring them back to the check station whole. Most deer I've seen here in NC are in the 140lbs range who dragging them is not back breaking "no pun intended". We do have good facilities here for skinning and a cooler we can leave them in for up to 3 days. I always gut mine as soon as possible and let them hang and wash them out good before dropping them off at the processor.
