Have any of you guys seen any rutting activity on the forest or management area yet? I know that it's getting time but haven't made it over there yet. Just curious as to what's going on over there. Thanks

Be hunting the forest last four days seen several deer.but hadn't seen any rutting activity yet.shouldn't be much longer though.

Lol I know I shouldn't get mad when I'm huntin close to them but when you park at the gate and you walk past signs that say no horses and there is more horse tracks then deer tracks

We will stop it if we see it. Catching them riding where they shouldn't ain't as easy as it seems. Took me several months to catch them in one area.

I get what your saying DW Maybe get camoed up, hide behind a bush, and when the horse comes by. Jump out screaming, Wrong trail!!! Spook the piss out of them horses, bet they will go back to the right trail.

Matt, do the horse riders have to buy a permit to use the land? Probably not. In Choccolocco, people ride horse on their trail during gun deer hunts. The hunters have to buy a management area license to hunt, and only get to use the land on certain dates. Horse riders don't pay squat and get to use the land 365 days a year. I propose, a usage fee. Anybody using the property for anything, hunting,fishing,camping,biking, or riding horses should all pay the same amount.
