Looks like Duffy over on the QDMA site still ain't gettin' it, he's wantin' to bet some feller on the score. He better keep his $ in his pocket.

Problem is that the deer probably won't be killed and scored to prove it either way.

Duffy's been watching too many hunting shows filmed in Canada... He's going to be disappointed when he ground checks his next buck...

I thought about it. I'd take it's closer to 130" than 145" for a $1000. But someone would have to kill it and a official P&Y or B&C man tape it.

No way that deer is 145. Unless it's 400lbs

Whenever I hear someone say they killed anything over 115" I just sort of nod my head and congratulate them. I know big deer are killed in Alabama, but my belief is that a very small percent strictly measure 120" or more. And I think even fewer people (myself included) really know what they are doing scoring deer.

I think the most important aspects of that guys original post are 1) he's excited about the deer and 2) it's a good buck for that area. In my opinion if the deer gets you jacked up, and it's grown to a good size for the area ... shoot him, be happy, and be proud. It's funny to see those guys invest so much emotion in proping up reasons for a high score.

I've never seen a study on it, but I think there is a large percentage of the bucks in south Bama that die of old age and never have antlers that score 120".
