I think some make it a choice, but I really think some people are born that way. I know of a guy who is a normal dude, his son on the other hand acts "gay" as the day is long. He is only 12 or so. I have been around this kid for a few years. When we are at a friends get together or some event "the kid" always plays with the girls. He talks like a girl, does his hands like a gay guy and all. He was born like this. If he is not gay later in life I will be in total shock. He may just be a very, very girly boy. Who knows.

I don't care what they do behind closed doors when they get their freak on. That is between them and their maker.
I just think it is BS that society/media has to throw it in our face and our kids face daily.

being a Christian, I believe homosexuality is a sin. with that said, what they do in the privacy of their homes is their business. and if they want to walk down the street holding hands, whatever, it doesn't really affect me. Someone will say "well what if your kids see it....." - well, then I'll use it as a teaching moment to teach them my own beliefs.
honestly, if they want to get "married", I don't care. The argument about "destroying the sanctity of marriage" is BS - straight people have done a perfectly good job of destroying it already - have you looked at divorce statistics lately?
with all of that said, the word "marriage" should not be listed anywhere in any legal document and should not exist in any way, as far as the government is concerned. "Marriage" should be something strictly church-based and churches should be granted the right to perform or not perform the marriages based on their own beliefs. "civil unions", or some such, should be a completely separate thing, recognized by the government and subject to all the same things (good or bad) regardless of whether it's between a man/woman, man/man or woman/woman.
That's my opinion. You are free to disagree, I won't think less of you if you do.

I don't have any gay family members, any one that would say their gay aren't in my family just like I wouldn't be welcome into their ideal of family because i don't believe like them.

Deerman took some real guts for you to put that out here. As usual I am not surprised by some of the remarks in this thread. All you can do is pray. Once an adult their decisions are their own.
I have been dealing with something similar for the past 10 years with someone. I could not understand it then or now. However it is their decision and their life. This person grew up active in church and new the teachings of the Bible with regard to homosexual behavior but decided to live that life.
It affects a part of my life pretty much daily. I have prayed for guidance for 10 years and the only way I can make a difference in the persons life is to simply pray for them now.

I don't understand how you "choicers" think that a normal man could somehow look at another man and "decide" it was a better choice than a woman. If you're normal, you are disgusted at the thought of touching another man in that way.
Being what I consider to be normal, the concept of homosexuality is foreign to me. But I can tell you right now, we only get one life on this planet once we're born, and I'll be damned if I'll let some bunch of 40 year olds with a 3rd grade reading level try to tell me I can't be happy, no matter what it is that brings me happiness. I wouldn't respect anyone that wouldn't do the same.
What I don't like is all the outright filth that some of the gay advocates use in public. None of that crap is helping their cause.

Your saying the homo "gene" , since there would have to be one if they're born that way, must be lurking around in all of us? Just not expressing itself? I mean, just using your eye color example as an analogy. Just trying to understand, only had one course of genetics in college. Knowing queers can't pro create, it still seems nearly impossible to pass it on, except through bisexuals.
Personally, I think it's just a cop out for a sexual perversion. Last time I checked, sex was an act or behavior. I'll also stick with Gods definition of marriage and his view of homosexuality. Not judging, But I know what it says. I'm going to assume you failed that biology class. There are any number of genetic mutations that are not passed down. I have no idea if it's a choice, I'm just pointing out your flawed genetic logic.

There may be genetic inclinations to being homosexual just like there are genetic inclinations to being an alcoholic or a serial killer.
Bottom line is all men are born without sin which makes it indefinitely a choice made by the individual.
What they convince themselves is irrelevant.
Everybody experiences temptation in different ways. all sins are equal and the gov should look at bigger issues first

Nothing was said about rights or consenting adults.I was making a point. If the argument is they were born with the desire to be gay then the rapists,robbers and molesters could say the same. To say God made them that way is to say God tempts man(or women) which the bible clearly says he does not. I say it is a choice. I'm not for gay marriage period. If they want a civil union then I don't care.
