Ummmm, yeah, that's the point. They're illegal on interstates for the aforementioned good reasons.

Those same reasons also apply to major roadways that aren't interstates. Laws that permit their use there don't make sense.


There is no minimum speed limit on most roads other than interstates. That's the difference.

It's also perfectly legal to use a horse and buggy on most roads...not interstates.
