I've been out of work about a month now. I've got a background in Aircraft maintenance and heavy structures. Just looking to see what else is out there. Figured you guys might know. Trying to get closer to home. The panhandle or south alabama Maybe the oil industry. Open to any ideas or suggestions. Thanks ahead of time.

That's where I'd like to be. But from what I've heard they've been going through a layoff out there.

They have. You might try Sikorsky in Troy.

Check out Airbus in Mobile. I believe they're hiring aircraft maintenance personnel now.
I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

Air Evac Lifeteam is opening a new maitanace facility at Cullman airport. They will be next to my hanger. Supposed to employ 10 and keep up all the Southeastern bases. They have all Bell 206's. Check the website. Don't know if any jobs are posted but you can at least call and ask. Good luck.

Like others said, Airbus if you want to stay in that line of work. Otherwise Austal and Ingalls shipyards are always hiring.

There's already an operational airplane repair facility in Mobile, Mobile Aerospace or MAE, I believe. They're probably bulking up on employees now in anticipation of Airbus.
