Not to poke at you guys who send your kids to private school, but my wife (who teaches at a public middle school) & I have a different position:
If all of the �good kids� with �good parents� get pulled from public schools and sent to private schools, then why are we surprised when we see what happens with what is left. Why are the �good folks� always so willingly to quietly go away instead of getting involved in making something better?
For me personally....it's for the protection of my children until such time that they have a rock solid faith and can stand firm against the evils of this world. Jesus Christ didn't call 5th graders to evangelize the world, but instead called grown men and women who had the fortitude, faith, and God given wisdom to stand strong in the face of evil. I'm at peace that he doesn't expect mine to endure such a calling either. They will have PLENTY of time to be head long in this messed up, secular world taking a stand for Christ when they're adults. As for now, we have chosen to protect their moral innocence and build up their Biblical knowledge and wisdom, to the best of our God given abilities, until such time that they are ready to head out into whatever God calls them to do. In today's society, in my humble opinion, it's almost impossible to do it in a public school. Folks with similar goals are simply far outnumbered these days.
