That's why I pay tuition for private school every month,worth every damn dime Same here. x3. My 9th grade daughter is now in private school. Huntsville is in the middle of a rezoning war with the feds, and the big losers in this war will be families just like mine that can't afford private school tuition.

Have you checked into the new scholarship program the legislature passed? If I remember the details, If you are zoned for a failing school, you can get up to a $3000 state tax break to attend an eligible private school.
You should check it out.

When I went private schools were for those who thought they were rich. The rich sent the kids to boarding school out of state. Today I would no more put my child in my old school. It's 99% democrat and 95% OF those parents do not own property so get school for free don't pay property taxes. With zero residual claimants using a system, you have a tragedy of the commons failure. Ie overgtazing and no accountability. Couple that with the same democrats teaching and running the board, kids have no chance. It's not about getting educated, it's about leaving no democrat behind. I could pay cash for a new truck/car every two years for what I spend on tuition for my two kids to attend a private school. Oh well, I will have plenty of time for that after the kids get out of school.

I think theres like 8 black people in my daughters school k-12.Its a very small 1A school back out in the country where my parents went,me and my brother and now our kids go there.Not many messicans either.We had orientation tonight and she has 2 messicans in her class that have been there since kindergarten and 0 black people.Shes goin into the 4th grade.There are some really good teachers at this school and i have known most of them for a long time.I couldnt imagine sending my kiddos anywhere else public or private.

It's not so the kids fault, it these sorry low life government leeches, of the parents. I mean thier was grown men and women wearing dang PAJAMAS, to meet the teacher for the first time. Just plain jane white trash is about all it was of all colors. I know it's not christian like to be like that, and the good lord wil deal with me, but It just really really ticks me off, about how our school system is run. I don't know, just wanted to complain I guess.
I do apologize for the names, I honestly didn't realize it was illegal. I'm in public schools the majority of the time doing inspections and I don't know how these teachers deal with what they do from the parents side. The child can't help it but the parents can.

The whole purpose of them being private was to get away from any state or federal mandates.

yeah, I agree, but that is why I linked Gov Riley's group. I figure he was governor for 2 terms, fought the unions and the non swimming public school consumers and today has total control over all branches of Alabama government and got this law passed... I figure if anyone can get a deserving child out of hell, Riley can. I have been wrong before because I trusted politicians. I hope this time you are wrong, for the kids sake. Riley aint a liar is he?

back about 45 years ago or so... Used to be a Albert G. Parrish High School in Selma and several others in the area.
Today they are all gone. Isabella stands tall still today reminding all of us what democrats have cost us. Not just crime, taxes and other expenses, but they have cost us our way of life.
At least for those who cant afford to move. I watched some fine children get lost in public schools the last many years. Thats why I am so excited about Gov. Riley's group. It's high time poor white people had a civil rights bill. It's high time I got a tax credit for owning property in a failed school zone that I dont even use.
we have spent trillions since 1954 Brown v.Board of Education trying to get blacks into a success mode and to learn how to get along in a private ownership society.
What did we get? A new excuse every 10 years or so and more new laws that forgive their inability to get along or produce. Well, there is no free lunch. Someone has to pay for that insolence.
My daddy didnt give me 10 minutes and neither did yours so why do we commit an entirely brand new legal system to a group of people who cant manage themselves or follow rules or get by without dreaming up new excuses then keep passing more new laws blaming their problems on society at large, every 10 years or so?
A condoleeza rice here, a clarence thomas there, a thomas sowell and walter williams too, what every 100 years?
In the meantime we get millions of non producing overbreeders that ruin everything in their path like a pack wild hogs.
Yes, its long time overdue for poor white people to get some relief. They are the Christians who suffer in silence that never ask government for a penny and who want to be left alone.
Asking for help aint in our Scots Irish Redneck Genes...

I had small apprehensions until he got his first school supply list and a Bible was the first thing listed! The reason we changed was that we wanted to hold him back in the 6th grade for academic reasons and the county principal told us it wasn't OUR decision. I said "The hell it ain't", got up and walked out! He never went back after that day.

If I have to work 3 jobs, drive my minivan for the next 10 years, and never sleep....my children will never set foot in a public school again. Been homeschooling (i.e. no income from the wife who is a nurse) for several years and the oldest two are making the transition to private school on Tuesday while the younger two remain in homeschool. It ain't easy...but so worth it. Public school just ain't what it was when most of us were children here in Alabama. Sad, but true.

Talk to friends out of state. Whatever you pay in private school tuition you're not paying in property taxes. I've got a friend in Maryland pays almost $12K/year.

I guess to the same school, and what really sucks is I can see the public high school from my house that I attended and can't use it! Same here,I lived across the street from my old high school,and while it's still a pretty good public school,I felt it was better to send them to private,with the way schools have been closing and being consolidated the last 5-6 years there's no telling what will happen in the next 10 years to the public school system here, at private schools the kids are held to certain standards at school and away from school and if they don't want to obey the rules then see ya later, I was skeptical to begin with when they first started but it's the best decision we ever made for them
