I went to take my labs to retrieve at a tower shoot this weekend outside of Union Springs. It was warm but I never gave a thought to snakes. After hunting all day my 5yr old black lab began to drool and act strange that night, I thought nothing of it. The next day it was worse and he was very swollen uder his chin. A trip to the vet revealed a snake bite! He is fine now but had I waited longer it may have been a very different outcome.
