ElkHunter, gave me a great idea on my triggering system. I first called him , to see about buying a gate for a hog trap of mine. He gave my some great advice and it worked supper well. I simply took an idea he gave me and made a remote sytem out of it! Thanks again ElkHunter!

HaHa!

But, seriously.....the 'time' point is getting misconstrued. I 'enjoy' all the things around my dogs!!!!
And, I wish I still had dogs as good as the ones I recently lost.....and I will! But, mine are still pretty good. I pull up. turn them out, they go hunting and find hogs. They don't run deer, tree coons, chase each other up and down the road, stand around in the shade waiting on me, etc. I sit on my butt and wait and watch the Garmin. It usually does not take them long to find and bay a hog if they are there! It is not nearly as 'intrusive' as many think. Heck, they don't even bark until the hog is stopped and bayed! They have one job....find and bay hogs. They dang well better not be doing anything else! I am pretty serious about that.

Just kidding. I am always willing to help anyone when it comes to hammering pigs! You need to tell me more about the remote you came up with! LOL

Back to hog vs deer populations, it is still an internet mystery what happened to the hogs on Wheeler.

Apparently there was a decent herd out there a few years ago, but they have disappeared. WTH?

Coyotes do eat little pigs. As many as they care to. We already have way more hogs than deer on our Wilcox County property.

The land owners I worked for looked at it like a competeion for resourse . Hogs tear up feilds and knock over protein feeders. So the hogs are basicly getting the BEST resources the land managers are trying to feed the deer. Hogs multiply faster than deer their 4 they can take a place over quicker. My take is hogs can quickly over whelm a property if not trapped, hunted, OR hog-dogged.

There is NO question that you have to kill a lot of hogs to control the population and prevent their spread!!!!
