The season will be here before we know it. What are some goals yall are going to set for the season this year. For the first time in many years I'm not going to worry about killing my limit. I've got a few things I would like to accomplish this year. First is make sure my daughter kills a gobbler. She has come soooo close the last few years, but just has not closed the deal. That is partially my fault. We always take my gun and hers or have someone with us playing back up. If a bird stayed a little too far out for her or started to slip on the wrong side we would take care of business. She was happy just to be there and watch em do the death flop. This year when she goes the focus is all on her. If a bird gets away than so be it. But she will be the only one with a gun. Next goal I have is call up and kill a gobbler with a call I built with my own hands. I started fooling around with making calls start of last summer and have become addicted to it. I have given numerous calls to friends and relatives. Ready to have them put to the test. Hope they measure up. Looking forward to this spring. It can't get here fast enough. Good luck to all of you this upcoming spring.

To kill my first bird, and for it to be on my property. I didn't hunt it last year because I thought we didn't have a huntable population. Well, after checking cameras after the season I had multiple pics of 7-8 birds, 3 of which were gobblers.

Also, I'm going to a buddy's place in Arkansas in April and I really want to kill one there, too.

1) be in the woods enjoying every opportunity
2) call in a turkey myself (last year was my first year and I went with others, who did the calling, to learn)
3) kill my first bird

I wish I could breathe life back into him,

If I could I'd hunt him again tomorrow. ..

Just hope to go and have a turkey or two to hunt. Worried that I will not hear but one or two, and he will be a mile off on God knows whose property.

To see a lot of sunrises,
Hear a lot of turkeys gobble
And if the good Lords willing, see a few die.
I would love for my dad to kill his first

Amen. I just pray that God allows me to watch another sunrise on a crisp, beautiful spring morning. And if that happens, I'll pray and ask for the same again real soon afterward.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Just to enjoy myself and try to learn something new whenever I get the opportunity to go.

I'm with Southwood. If I can just be out there playing the game, I'm satisfied. If I can kill one, that's even better. Although, it would be nice to limit out for once, I've come close before.

Kill one with my bow.
Talk my wife into going with me so she can see why I enjoy it so much.

My goals each year are the same. Have a safe and successful season and try to spend some time in the woods with my dad and grandad. I don't set goals as far as birds go other than my goal is to try and kill at least 1 bird a year, after that 1st one the rest are all bonuses. But I have a couple goals this year that normally i don't. Take my 6 year old daughter out on more than just the youth hunt and try my damnedest to get her her 1st bird. And also take both kids out, my son is 3, he did way better than expected during deer season, my goals with him are to just go, have great time and hear birds. And finally help my grandad get a bird this year. He's slowing down and each spring he talks as if it were his last.'needless to say this is a pretty tough task, because basically it's got to be picture perfect for him to shoot. He doesnt maneuver easily at all, and especially more so the last several years. If his guns at 12 o'clock and the bird slips in at 3 o'clock he can not turn just that lil amount to make the shot. Regardless of the outcome he and I will have a great time, we always do, I'd just like to see the ol' man bust a beak!!
