Humiliation and shame have a place. Why do you think so many people live off the government and others these days? Have children outside of marriage? Because no one is ashamed or humiliated by their actions these days. Not long ago people were ashamed to shop with foodstamps. Now it's totally acceptable.

When I was a single parent my daughters were acting up one day in the car. I stopped on the side of Hwy 431 on Monte Sano mountain, a high traffic area. I lined them up against the trunk of my car and scolded them in plain sight of everyone passing by. That night a liberal friend of mine razzed my butt about it saying there was no place for embarrassment when raising kids. I disagreed with him and we argued about it for weeks.
My daughters have never given me a lick of trouble. His daughter's are hellions ... Knock on wood and praise God ...
