Well barely over your price mark. I've got the makita set and love it. The full size not the compact. Because I use mine constantly everyday and the compact battery didn't last long enough.

We use all dewalt stuff. The new 20 bolt lithium stuff is great and has a long run time. I believe I paid $149 or so for the drill/impact combo with two batteries and charger and a nice case. The porter cable batteries are junk. Makita makes some fairly good stuff.

X2 but damn did you get em off a crackhead on the street corner?I was looking at em yesterday at Russels and the combo was $229.Hell they wanted $99 for 2 new 18volt batteries.

Ain't none no better than these. Yeah I was looking at the Milwaukee $200 for the impact and drill 2 batteries and the charger and case. Think I might get it. I'm guessing you've used these before. With good results.

I have had a hard time with this very topic. We use cordless drills and impacts 6 days a week in the shop. We drill holes through hardened truck frames very often and 1/8-1/2" mild steel plate every day. We take nuts off rusted bolts 6 days a week with the cordless impact drivers every day as well. I have gone round and round with which one is best. Here's the deal, there isn't a best one. They all have their drawbacks. We started with an 18 volt lithium Dewalt drill and impact driver set. The drill has an all metal chuck. That's important. With a fresh battery the drill will hurt you when the bit hangs up in steel. After a year it still would. After about a year the chuck was worn out. Bit's slipped in it. I researched the best one on the market. Supposed to be the Milwaukee Fuel. I ordered one. It came in. I put a brand new 1/2" Norseman drill bit in it, set down on a piece of 1/2" plate and laid on it. Half way through drilling the hole, the drill stopped and the clutch started popping even though it was on drill and not set to slip. Back it went. The replacement was not one bit better. I could stop the Milwaukee and the one year old Dewalt would still twist your arm double over. I will NEVER own another Makita tool. My dad has some of their cordless stuff and has had to have the clutch replaced twice in his drill with moderate to heavy homeowner use. The Makita rep came by our shop and after his song and dance talked me into buying one of his 4 1/2" angle grinders that "couldn't be burned up" due to some sort of slip clutch in the head. The day I got it I called him and told him the head of the grinder was getting so hot while using it that you couldn't hold it bare handed. Three months later, smoke came boiling out of the motor while I was using it. It's sent back right now. I better get a new one. The Metabo rep came by the shop a month or so ago. He was pushing his grinders, which I don't like, and showed me his super duper heavy duty 1/2" cordless drill. I told him I would buy one on the spot if it worked like I wanted it to. I grabbed a new drill bit, started drilling a hole in 1/2" plate and the drill completely stopped halfway through the hole. So, I have been round and round. Buy a dewalt with an all metal chuck and run it til it won't run anymore. I bought another Dewalt set a month or two ago. The chuck already slips.  If Dewalt would step up and match Milwaukee, Makita and Metabo's battery warranty they would own the cordless market. 2 side notes: 1) I didn't mean to get on my soap box.  2) If you want a good angle grinder, get a Milwaukee.

I have both the 20V Lithium drill/impact combo and as well as an older 18V Ni-cad drill/Impact combo.I use them both daily at work and for all my projects. I will say I like the 20v for certain things because it is compact and light weight but it wont touch the run time for prolonged use that my 18v ni-cad has. If im drilling steel or doing a project that requires more than 5-10 minutes of steady use the 20v LI is worthless. I break out the old 18 for the tougher jobs. Theres a reason the "old technology" 18V combos will set you back a few more dollars than the 20V sets. The 20V may be more than you will ever need, just offering advice as I have and use both extensively. You can catch the 20v combo on sale at lowes pretty regularly for 149 and 199.00, I gave 149 for mine.

Milwaukee fuel has been very strong and durable for me so far. I have had all brands up to the brushless technology. The fuel has really exceeded my expectations. I started with the drill and driver and now have the sawzall and circular saw. I am impressed with all so far.

Well yall ain't making it easy. FurFlyin and TC great post. Thanks for all the input. But it looks like that the Dewalt is what most of yall like/go to. Now to find a home depot up here is the next question. Where I'm at in Michigan there aint chit close to me. Thanks guys
