I thought I had seen a post similar but my searching failed to locate it. So here is the question:
I am in the market for a dual purpose 'vehicle' of sorts. I would like to be able to throw the kids in/on it and get them around and keep a smile on their face. I also need it to be able to split time as a proper work horse and attach necessary tools for tending small (1 acre or less) food plots.
I have come to the rough conclusion that it must have at least 450cc engine in order to function with mini-farming attachments and come with a hitch of sorts.
I have been trying to decide between a Polaris Ranger/Mule or a Honda Foreman or similar.
What say you?

I prefer 4 wheelers like a foreman. I don't pull anything more than a small trailer though.

If you go ATV, the Yamaha Grizzly 660 is a fine machine. I LOVE mine. Full front locker, low gear when needed. Mine had 26 inch tires when I first bought it. It felt a little top heavy. I installed a set of wider rims (spacers would work to..but I got a great deal (free) on a set of rims/tires). The wider rims made it a much different machine.

Ranger for sure. I planted About 3 acres in food plots this year with a 2' wide walk behind bushhog, a ranger 700xp w a groundhog max disc, and a couple buckets hand spreading seed...

I bought a ranger 570. It has front and back bench seats. Comfortably rides all 5 people in my family. Could hold 6 people. It has 2 or 4 wheel drive. I really like the power steering option. We planted all the fields on our club this year with it. It has plenty of power and is fast enough to scare me. 60 plus mph. The kids love it and I love hunting off of it.

Another nod for the side by side.
...that said, we have a Polaris 700, and I'd say that if you decide on a 4-wheeler, go BIG. The extra power is great for working and fun when playing!

Go for the polaris. Only down side is that it can't go way down in woods to pick up deer like a smaller machine can. As far as utility, you can't beat the ranger.

Theres things an ATV will do better than a UTV...and vice versa...Theyre 2 different machines

Ive pulled a 21 ft camper with a Honda 300 4x4 That is insane, awesome but insane. I appreciate the input from everyone, there has been a pretty good spread of opinions which I value from you guys. I'm thinking the Ranger is going to be at the top of the list. I'm taking the family down to the local Polaris dealership to do some "product testing" this weekend on everything they'll let me punch the gas on. Does anyone have any recommendations on manufacturers for smaller brush hogs, drags, and maybe a tiller?

kubota rtv its the best of both worlds tractor and available in 4 seter utv with heat and cab
