May not be the smartest thing but we use to chase them for awhile before we even called the GW. It got to be quite entertaining. Neighbors would join in. 4 wheelers, trucks, people on foot. It was like a man drive. Hooping and hollering. But everyone had guns is where the problem might come in. Sometimes we would run them for miles. The LEO's (some times it was sheriff deputies) always found it amusing. But people quit poaching and we lost our entertainment.

Poachers avoid confrontations....
But, if they know you saw them and did nothing.....it empowers them and makes them even bolder!

If you tell the GW's or SO that you are armed and will hold them until they arrive I bet it would speed up their response time.
To answer your original question: Prosecute, every time.

prosecute every damn one of em every damn time without fail. Talk to the judge and the DA and ask for high fines. If those outlaws don't say yer name with asshole preceeding it you ain't doing enough..... lol , thats right

Or an idiot who thinks they won't get caught. Best thing to do is prosecute them. No warnings like " if I catch you again" save your breathe and prosecute them.

I've heard his stories of her catching poachers. she scared ME a few times with what she would do.... she'd call me on the cell phone and say she had a poacher on her place. I'd be 30 min away working somewhere. I'd tell her to watch em and I'd be right there...."she'd say no hurry they are just sitting here waiting on you". Damn, I'd speed up another 10mph....I'd get there and the poacher would be sitting in the road with his hands on his head praying for me to hurry up and get there....and be damn glad to see me and get arrested..and away from her. 
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I drained the oil out of three four wheelers that was on my land , never heard a word or seen them again GW confiscated one on my place a few years ago. He hauled it away and locked it in the equipment shed at the WMA. When the guy tracked it down GW couldn't get him to confess to hunting , but did write him for trespassing. Wouldn't give him his wheeler back till he paid the fine.

The response of the individual would determine how I responded. I hunted some property back in my younger days I didn't have permission to hunt. Had I have been caught and told not to be back I would have apologized and been yes sir and that been it and wouldn't have planned on coming back. I actually got stuck mud riding on a power line trail at 16. Cops came and called my dad they didn't prosecute. My dad and I went to the owners house and apologized and he was very understanding.

Our hunting experiences should be pleasurable and something we look forward to as a outlet from lifes BS.
I would guess that this issue is making your life miserable.
Go after them with every thing within your legal means.

Make sure you sign the warrant for hunting without permission. It carries a $1,000.00 fine, plus costs and a one year loss of hunting privileges. It is a much stiffer charge than criminal trespass 3rd.
Thanks very much for pointing out this critical difference. Dealing with a situation right now I need to follow up with and this will be something I talk about with the landowner.
