They cant see it...Ive shot deer at night, 3-4 a night...over corn, on Federal property that didnt allow ANY hunting, using a predator scope mounted red light...with a .22
...well it was a 22 blank, using tranquilizer darts on cantonment area of Camp Shelby...with the MS Dept of Wildlife...dart had tracker on it...We used climbing stands, over corn piles...literally beside buildings in some cases...Shelby is over ran with deer...corn would be on the ground about 4 hrs before they'd find it...had herds of 10-12 come to it at same time...We shot does only...we'd dart them, used radio to call pick up team, they come get the deer...usually fell within sight...put it on left side like a horse on a stretcher...haul it back to our 'camp'...check it out, weight etc...give it a antibiotic shot, and a shot to clear anesthesia..put deer in a wooden box with only enough room to stand up, haul them nightly on a trailer to Starkvegas and next morning at daylight it was at MS State...
