Could Ne1 please tell me where all the deer are at?...ive seen numerous hog and deer tracks. Ive found where the pigs are at in a few places but i cannot find the deer. Any advice on hunting that tract?

I have never been there , but I would start by scouting the places where I saw the deer tracks.
Looking at google earth or other satellite photos will also help you get a feel for the place, but ultimately you will have to scout, scout, and scout some more.
My advice is to find your own deer, and not hunt what other peole are or are telling you to hunt.

well...ive scouted a good bit and the place is literally so thick that i can never find a way to get in deep where i know they are hiding. guess ima have to break out the ole machete and go to hackin away. Ive found most of my tracks on common footpaths that i know other hunters use. Its just a tough piece of ground. alot different then the last wma property i hunted(oakmulgee).

Get into the thick stuff away from any footpaths and hack you a few trails in a big x shape, maybe 100yds or more in each direction. The deer will start using these paths,(it may take a while, maybe not) but people will not know they are there unless they stumble upon them. If these paths are between good food sources, then all the more better. Set you stand downwind of and overlooking the center of the x. You probably need to check into whether it is legal or not to hack the place up though since it's public land.

Dont hack...use Pruning Shears or some Loppers. Almost all thick stuff will have ares that are thinner than others, Deer will use these areas to travel. Find them and set up on them. Like advised before, Goggle Earth can be useful in finding these thinned ares, usually slightly higher in elevation than surrounding areas.
Hunt'em hard when they are hard to hunt but never, ever hardly hunt!

If I were you I would hunt elsewhere. There are some deer on that WMA but others around here are much more productive.

no i never lived in tuscaloosa...me and a few family members used to make the drive from mobile a few times a yr. We stayed at the lake in the camper. Ive heard bad stuff about the place lately with deer population and i have to admit..thats not how i remember it. My first day there i must of seen fifty deer. It was unreal.

you ever go down there and stomp around in that mess?...it sucks for sure. but it is the closest one to me and i like having a place that i can waste time at scouting and honing the skills a lil bit. where else would you recommend that i try out??
