I have a Macintosh (Mac OS X 10.6.8). Yesterday, I attempted to update my Adobe software and I think that when I updated my Adobe, something else downloaded with it! Anyway, my Mac is all of the sudden, slooooow. I Googled "My Mac is slow" and Mackeeper comes up and I have heard horror stories about MacKeeper so I don't want that.

What to do to speed my Mac up? I am good with IBM's but not good with Macs. I don't want to spend hours attempting to solve my issue looking on the Internet and finding a possible solution then wonder if the advice is devious.

Thanks!!!!

Whatever you do, stay away from MacKeeper

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Walk away from it for awhile and it should fix itself. Your welcome!

I found this on the internet and it helped my Macbook Pro:

"This is a common problem. All you need to do is shut the computer off and plug it in to the wall. After you do that you need to hold down the left shift, option and control and the power button for 10 seconds. It should not turn on. After that you need to just turn on the computer as normal."
