Has anyone been to the areas in Kentucky where the supposed Inbreeding of "holler dwellers" takes place? Are the rumors true? I've always wondered if such a place really exists. It's hard to think in this modern age a group of people could be that far removed from civilization.

You aint gotta go that far north..I know cousins thats married with kids..She didnt even have to change her last name when they got married cause they had the same name already...Yea thats how close "ken" they are...and no..its not me

My dad and his buddies used to hunt a place in east tennessee up close to the kentucky border. They were way out in the sticks, they said there was just one family that lived within a few miles of their hunting camp and that this family lived in a kind of filth and squalor that was hardly imaginable. But, they had some interactions with the guy and his wife and they seemed to be friendly enough. They had several children, all of which were physically or mentally handicapped in one way or another. A couple years after first meeting them they found out from some locals that the husband and wife were brother and sister, just the thought of it gives me the willies.

They have two daughters. One seems normal but the other one I'm not so sure about. Genetically I think she's fine just awful weird.

I'll tell ya where it's bad is in the upper Midwest. They've got towns that have maybe 20 people living there and the names haven't changed for over 100 years. All of them come to town about twice a year. One of the biggest draws was some festival in July.
It was like they were having open auditions for a Wrong Turn movie. I fully expected to see a cyclops walking down the street at any moment.
