I rattled in 18 bucks in 3 mornings a few years ago. BUT that place is a little different than most places in Alabama (No high fence) and its the only place that it has worked for me ever in Alabama. I am hearing a lot more rattling success stories this year though...

Yes rattled in several smaller bucks last year, just don't rattle too long or they see you before you ever see them

Yes! Killed this one last year. Saw him about 400 yards out, hit the horns together and he came in on a string. Shot him at 70 yards

Stupid but true story. 2 yrs ago I took a day off to hunt behind the house and I did not know how to rattle. I set up next to a tree on the ground and starting rattling and slapping my hands on the ground, kicking my boots into the dirt. Rolling around on the leaves.....you would have thought I had lost my mind (did that because I heard a guy mention that one day) ....just making a bunch of noise coupled with the rattling. Anyway, after doing that I sat there for 45 minutes literally and saw nothing. Then my cell phone vibrated and it was one of my biggest customers we had a lot going with....so I said screw the hunting and answered the cell phone. As I began to talk I leaned my rifle up against the tree, and proceeded to talk and walk away from the tree. As I was talking I felt this weird feeling like someone was watching me. I looked over to the right, and a big 6 was staring right at me about 50-60 yrds. His head was back and I could literally see is nostrils. I hung up on my customer (VP of Operations)... looked over at my gun laying next to the tree trying to figure out what to do. The buck just stood there....looking at me and away from me and did not blow or run. When I took that fist step towards my rifle probably 5 feet from me...he blew and busted through the woods like a bat at a hell. I never do work in the woods anymore. Learned a lesson that day.

Rattled one in last year, sounded like he was breaking the woods a part coming out the pine thicket, he came in stood behind some thick brush and stood there. He knew something wasn't right I guess because he tore out like a bat out of hell. Only time it ever worked and I couldn't make a kill.

I killed this 6pt on 12/19/13 by rattling him in to me. This is the first time I have ever been successful rattling. I rattled for several minutes, hung the antlers up, and grabbed my gun. He came a running within 5 minutes. On 12/20/13, I rattled in 3 small bucks, 2 spikes and a 4 pt.

Never had any luck with me, but I keep trying. Being in Conecuh County I still gotta wait a while before I start rattling. I'm thinking the last week of January and into the extended season will be best timing for me.

Rattled an 8 pt last week. Had a shoot house on the ground and after my hunt I sat on the side of it and started rattling. It wasn't long until I heard one come running, broke out of woods about 20 yrds from me.
