Hunting Bankhead National Forest on a major creek crossing hoping all the people gun hunting will push some my way. Crowded today. This is my 6th time hunting this tree and I have seen deer all but one time. The does don't get a free pass today! grin

Got a field chair sitting with me in it, about 25-32 yards from main game trail to a decent sized creek. I threw a game cam out last weekend and this morning had 600+ photos, most were 11pm-1am or 8-9:40am. Hoping today will be bow kill number 1!

Anybody have any luck yet? The wind picked up something fierce about 20 minutes ago but it's swirling in every dang direction!

Same here. 30 minutes before I checked them.

Three hogs just skirted me at 65 yards. I wish they would use a defined trail and not just go any where

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Heard a buttload of gun shots at about 09:15ish.

Didn't see anything until I walked back to my truck. I literally got about 200ft from it, coming around the last bend, wandering in my own mind from the mile or so walk back from the bottom, and walk right up on a basket buck and two does, grazing about 3ft off the side of the trail. They bolted about 40yds in, then the buck comes back charging until he gets around 30ft from me. He was stamping his feet, his tail looked like a boat prop the way it was spinning. After about 3 minutes of a staring contest, he turns broadside and starts to graze again, as I was knockin' an arrow, that little pop caught his attention and he darted off...

I walk back down the trail about 100yds and cut in about 50ft and could see them, but just ended up playing hide and seek for an hour or so and never could get closer than about 40yds in some thick brush with no chance at a shot.

Frustrating to say the least. On the upside, I pulled my cams from the area, and tonight looking at the pics, I caught everything besides black bear...coyotes, about a half dozen hogs (including one monster), some 6/7 point bucks, a good lot of does, and about 4 turkeys. I'll throw some pics up tomorrow when I have a minute.
