For the price they are pretty good, bought both of those for my sons. My youngest still has the Mossburg 100 ATR in 243, it shoots sub moa, only problem we have had is there are times when the round does not seat properly in the mag and doesn't want to chamber so you have to reposition it; doesn't happen very often. My oldest son had the 770 stainless in 270. but sold it to someone on here. It was a nice shooting rifle but the magazine would was loose fitting. I personally didn't like the feel of the 770 but that's just me.
Elite Omnia, Easton FMJ, Axcel Landslyde 5 pin slider.

I've owned both and didn't have any problems with either of them. I didn't like the feel of the actions or triggers but they performed just fine.

Marlin xs7 and Ruger American are both much better Rifles in the same price range.

In that price range I'd go Ruger American or Savage Axis before either of the 2 you mentioned. Better yet, Academy has Remington 700s for $379.

Personally I don't like the way a 770 feels . I would rather buy a used 700 , Thompson venture or a browning a-bolt in decent shape than either of the two mentioned.
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!
