I just bought a Rock River Coyote with a 16in barrel. It will mainly be used for varmit/hog hunting. I need to find a decent scope to put on it but I dont want to add a large heavy scope to it. I like some of the Leoupold Mark series scopes. I hunt wide open flat land so I do want a decent power scope. Anyone have any recommendations?

The Mark AR 3-9 X40 is a great scope. I have it on my Sig 556 and love it. Click it to 500 yds and plink steel pistol targets at our range.

Might check the DCNR website for factual info but I would really think the answer is no. I have a 5rd limiter that fits a Pmag 20rd magazine. It goes in the bottom of the magazine and only allows 5 to fit. Someone may make a 5rd mag but I'm not sure or not.

TEN round plus one in chamber is the rules on WMA's in Alabama for rifles for deer and hogs. There is no cap limit hunting private land.

I didn't learn that either until year before last after I had gone out and spent $27 on a five round mag for mine. Most expensive .223 mag I have and it's the one that holds the fewest shells.

I'm kinda partial to the Bushnell 3.5-21 or the 4-30 with the Horus H59 reticle.

Since the gun is a Coyote, I put a Nikon Coyote (BDC Predator) on mine. Absolutely love it. Have had zero problems and very accurate at 100 yds. Haven't really had a chance to shoot any further to date.

I have a Leupold VX-III 1.75-6 on mine and love it. For shots 150 or less, which is about my intentions for the AR, it works very well.

I looked through the leopld mark AR 40mm and the eye relief seamed a but poor for what they were asking. I ended up going with a banner. I've got a 17hnr that I intend on putting it on then after Christmas I will get serious. Even though I don't intend on keeping it on my coyote, it had performed really good for what I paid for it.
