I went this past weekend. Not a very good weekend for me. Only saw deer on 1 of 4 sits.
Saturday afternoon I saw a 6pt, a doe with 2 fawns, and 4 does in a group. I was going to shoot one of the group of 4 to get us some points and meat in my freezer. They came out 15 minutes before dark. I waited until closer to dark to see if something else would come out. During those last few minutes, they moved away from me. I wasn't comfortable trying that long of a shot with the amount of light I had left, so I passed.
Maybe next time.

Missed a 10-point this afternoon at 4:50. I'm sick at the moment. I rushed the shot. I had a six point come in that I was watching aggravate a doe. The 10 come in fussed up. Right when I was going to pull the trigger he snort wheezed at the six point and he wheeled and run and the ten point lunged towards him. He did stop but I rushed the shot assuming he would take after him. He was only about 200yds out. He is not the biggest ten I have on camera but he is the oldest with the biggest body. I hunted him all year last year and never saw him but he was just an 8 point. He had 5 on one side and 3 on the other. He has short tines but a decent spread. Gonna give him a week to settle back down and try him again. I just know opportunities like this afternoon are VERY rare. Hope y'all are having a good season. My daughter did kill her first buck ever this past weekend. It was a six point that she shot at the same field at 4:30. She is ragging her dear old dad. Lol

Checking in. I have one doe kill will post picture next week. It is at camp in South Carolina. Will be hunting in Bellamy Alabama and Montgomery Alabama during January hope I can get another buck. Killed a nice 8 point in Montgomery last January. I am a parttime hunting guide for Bang's Paradise Valley Hunting Club in Ehrhardt, South Caroilna. Most of my deer hunting is done after our season in South Carolina ends. January 1.
