So I have a business meeting for a couple of days in Point Clear. I was wondering if there was any need to bring the fishing equipment and try to catch a couple in the evenings. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you staying at The Grand Hotel? Have caught trout, redfish and flounder from the jetties at the point. They also have a pier with lights and will usually have white trout and occasionally specks once the traffic clears out.

Yep. staying at The Grand. I figure I will have some time in the evenings to wet a hook. Any pointers on bait, rigs, etc.?

1/4 oz jig heads and buy some 3 inch New Penny gulp shrimp . Fin-s Arkansas shiner would work as well.

You could also fish some live shrimp under a cork or carolina rigged and should do well.

Have you made it down yet? There was a jubilee in the area Sunday. That would be the best fishing possible.
