I know Mr. Moore, and vouch for his integrity. I hear he has a good club also.
This is Aldeer! The place people come to vent their frustrations and completely change their stance a few minutes later...

North west about 3 miles from York is what Mr. Moore said. It sounds great except for the doe policy. I need a place where I can kill more than 2. Two does't even get my house started! LOL

My buddies joined a few years ago but hated it. Looks like they have dropped the membership some since.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

What did they not like about the club? i was in it a while few years back. what i did like first...prez bill moore is a fine, fine man, good land, lotta deer and turkeys, great camp facilities, generally good membership. not so good...rules enforcement not too good, club owned blinds and houses not well maintained, many houses on fields and shooting lanes locked (private), many fields not planted. i didn't like the morning draw for your hunting area for the day. it is fair system, but it's pretty hard to have scouted all 30+ areas and have stands out. bout all you could do was try and figure out areas nobody took usually and sit on that.

Talked to Billy today. He is still looking for a member or 2. May add another 1000 acres if he gets a few more members. I lease land that borders their club. Some good deer in the area

I called and asked about the club. It all sounds good except the 2 doe per member limit. Two doesn't even get my skillet greasy!

Not meaning to clog up this personal stuff but, I had the privilege of growing up with Billy and Guy and hunting with them In the mid and late 70's at W.E. McGowen, Cobbs Crossing and the old Rod, Gun and Bow. I can assure you that there can be no better man to run a club than Billy. He's been doing this as long as most of us have been alive. As far as the 2 doe limit, i'm not sure what has happened down that way in the last 35 years but i'm sure there is a reason for that. I can remember back then we took the kids around at night to see the deer and it wasn't unusual to see 30 or 40 deer a night on any greenfield. i'm sure as all of you that have been in and out of clubs all these years that the more members, the more rules and the more controversy. Just My Opinion. I wish yawl well

With all the doe days the last 10-15 years the deer population has took a hit in places that use to be loaded with deer.

I have no doubt that they are great folks. I just can't spend that kind of money on a club and only put two doe in the freezer! LOL

35 members if they all took 3-4 does....well, that's a bunch of deer. If you figure 40 deer per square mile for the density that would put the deer population of 6k acres around maybe 400 deer. Do you really want to shoot almost 1/3 of the deer on the property?? I don't think the 2 per person limit is all that outrageous, plus you've got whatever bucks you shoot to put in the freezer too.

This area isn't lacking deer whatsoever. I'm in a club right by Cobbs. Plenty to go around. 2 does per member is very odd to me. I found an old (yr 2000) biologist's recommendation that we take a MINIMUM of 150 does from one of our 6,000 acre tracts nearby. Can't speak to the members, other than the guys riding around on us claiming that they were Cobbs members that thought they were on their property (more than once)...
