need advice, i have a brand new rem. 223. bolt action that is giving me head aches . the gun will not eject spent or new shells about 2 out of 10 shoots . i either bump the stock with my hand or i run a cleaning rod down the barrel and the shell will fall out. it takes very little to get it to fall out . i e-mail remington 2 days ago and iam still waiting for an anwser. any ideas what the problem is?
been hunting 55 years. a little slower but much wiser . laws are for outlaws not sportsmen. respect the land and the wildlife !

Remington bolt actions are chambered for the .223 cartridge not the 5.56mm. If you are using milspec cartridges this may be the source of the problem. The chamber specifications are different. .223 rifle ammunition can be used in the long throated 5.56mm chambers but not the other way around. See: http://cheaperthandirt.com/blog/?p=35447

after waiting , i called and was told [ it sounds like an ejector problem ]and will mail you a new one or you can send it back . fellows i tried 3, 4 different shells from different makers. i will keep you up to date . with the history of remington bolt action iam not taking any chances .
