Maybe a stupid question but If I buy some leftover fall food plot mix now and keep it dry until this fall, it should be good right?

You might loose a few to germination, but just plant a few extra.

It should be fine if you can keep it dry AND bug free. I have seen it left in a shed or something for a few months and when it was opened it looked kinda like brown flour. Bugs/weevils can wipe out a good portion of it if they find it.

here's something to consider. put it in the freezer. i had put up some butter bean seeds from my wifes grandmother over 15 years ago and last year planted some in my garden. they came up. we have done the same thing with corn seed from one year to the next. also, if you have an old ice chest that seals good, it will help keep the bugs and rats out.
