After reading discussion in the thread concerning yesterday's CAB meeting, I decided to go back and check archery season dates as proposed in the draft season dates folder given to me at the meeting.
Lo and behold, I was wrong to write that bowhunters won't be impacted by the 10-day season shift into February in that zone.
The draft season dates are Oct. 25, 2013 through Feb. 10, 2014, so that season would open 10 days later than it traditionally has. Initially I wrote that the season would open as usual on Oct. 15.
Sorry for the confusion. Please pass this word around to everyone. I'm going to post this in the archery blog here, too.
The season shift proposal will most likely be voted on at the CAB's March meeting that will be held either in Tuscaloosa or Birmingham.

Are they going to open gun on nov 25 jeff?

Draft gun seasons are Nov. 23-Dec. 1, then closed Dec. 2-Dec. 11 and reopen Dec. 12-Feb. 10 in new southwest zone only.

Thanks for the clarification Jeff! You would know that my plant has a shutdown scheduled for the week of the 15th.... we were all excited about being off opening week of bow season, but oh well I will be hunting in Feb when it counts .

Looks like i get best of both worlds, got 120acres of family land in grove hill and the club is in jackson. If this is right and understand it right. I can hunt grove hill oct 15 and the dec 2 - 11 and the hunt club land in feb?
