Blowing a call is something duck hunters learn to do to show off in camp, not kill ducks. Unless they hunt timber.

agree with the jerk string, however over on this end, calling works for mallards if you hit them at the right time with the right call, gaddies not so much, a few quacks for gaddies is all you need to do if that much
some years ducks are more callable, just depends
some years I couldn't let up on them, all the way in, other years more of a pleading instead of demanding comeback and a few quacks, then again vice versa
will you kill plenty without any calling, being on the X is the best advice anyone can give, they ain't coming where they don't want to
Been to AR to the world calling championship, never seen the competition high balling work for ducks, except 1 time
we were over near Fair Oaks, ducks flying way high in the wind
we were in a scary in the middle of a flooded bean field, out of board um we began competition calling them, I be damned it worked, limited out very quickly when nothing else was working
just like deer hunting, there is no perfect answer, except being in the right place at the right time
