How does the Oak Mountain hunt work now. I seem to recall you used to have to pay to get a chance at being drawn.

The hunter selection was completed months ago now. If you want to read up on the program go to the BHA website. It is all there.

Good Luck with the hunts this year. I have followed all the media closely since this concept came to fruition a few years ago. I want nothing more than to see the program get positive results. It may open the door for more bowhunting opportunities in other areas in the future.

A guy in our club hunted Oak Mountain the first year. He scouted and found a good tree to hunt out of. When he showed up the first day before daylight a camreaman from a local news station started following him to his stand with a bright camera light on him. He run the guy off.

Keep up the good work! Thanks Yelp. We are going to give it our best shot. The program sure has evolved over the past few years and I really think this is the correct format to actually have a positive impact on the park. I will keep the numbers updated as I receive them.

Another doe was found the morning after it was shot. The yotes had eaten it up by then.

are they letting you shoot a buck without shooting a doe first. i wish they would have let us when i hunted it. could have tagged out on three different hunts.
