Got the first chance in a while (7 years) to get one with a bow. Doe was crossing the oak flat at about 25 yards, I stop her, she looks the complete opposite direction. I settle behind the shoulder, and let her rip. I see the arrow go several inches high and what I thought was center/front of the shoulder. She rares up on her hinds, tucks her head to her chest, and hauls ass. I say to myself crap, I made a terrible shot. I expect a lengthy tracking job. I get down to mark the spot where she was and found my arrow. Not a drop of blood and just some brown hairs and a small amount of light pink tissue. Looked around for an hour for any sign that I hit her good, but didn't find anything. Went back the neck morning just to make absolutely sure I didnt miss something. I didnt. Only thing I can think was that I pulled my head out from behind the peep trying to see where the arrow hit and pushed it right and grazed her chest. I don't know for sure as it all happened so fast, but I do know that my heart was pounding, and that's a good feeling.

Aim low and follow through with your shot. Do not pull up your head to see where the arrow hits. You will shoot high EVERY TIME!!

I followed every trail I saw in the vegetation for 100-200 yards looking and found nothin. The fact that my arrow was stuck in the ground on the other side makes me think I just grazed her. Based on where I thought the shot hit, there was no way my arrow was going to pass through two shoulders. And as far as aiming low, exacly how low?
