I am about to be on my 4th set of tires. The original tires were Bridgestone that Chev. put on the truck and I was not impressed. I've now gone through 2 pairs of Michelin LTX A/S's. They are supposed to be great tires but I wouldn't mind having a little more aggressive tread, but my main focus is buying the best tire for the money. Best I've done so far is 45000 on a set. I used to get over 100,000 when I had a 1500. I guess the extra weight wears the tread down faster???
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Have good luck with the BFG's All Terrain's. On. Smaller vehicle though.

The last set of tires on my Ford F250 diesel was the Michelin LTX M/S. Bought them new, rotated them every 3,000 miles and I got 60,000 miles out of them. They still had some tread left on them when I took them off. I now have the BF Goodrich TA KO All Terrains on it. I have never had a tire that picked up as many rocks as these do. I don't like them for that reason alone. Also, I don't expect to get anywhere near 60,000 miles out of them. When these are worn out I will be going back to the Michelin LTX M/S.

My buddy has a GMC 2500 Diesel and he runs Toyo At's and gets great life out of them. He bought the truck with 39,000 miles on it and it had what appeared to be a pretty new set of them on it. He wore them out and put another set on in December of 2010 and still has decent tread on them and his truck has 133,00miles on it now. I'd say they are holding up pretty well to be on a diesel truck. They are decent tread and dont roar.

I want something more agressive and have been looking at the BFG All Terrains after reading posts on here. I am in mud and snow on occasion, but mostly dry pavement. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Nitto or toyo's..... They sound new fangle but they last forever, put 40k on a f250 diesel, sold it two springs ago and the guy that bought it still has them on it. I have the Nitto terra grapplers , its a all terrain, great tires. Abt to buy my 3rd set of them.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

Yokahama geolander a/t-s 10 ply e range have gotten 70k out of them on a couple sets

TD, I now have the high grade Kumhos on my 2500. They are doing great. When I wasn't pulling a goose neck much ,but driving it alot, I ran a set at 36lbs, learned a lesson! 10 ply tires call for 50lbs, and 80 in rear when hauling. I wore a set out in about 20K, I blame it on low pressure. Get a good quality set ,keep the pressure up to spec and rotate. My.02

I have the federal couragia tires on my 2500 diesel. So far I'm very impressed
They are a mud tire so I know the millage wont be great but they do good on the backroads. I drive a company.truck 5 days a week otherwise I would have went with a high.millage tire

I've got Nittos on mine and they have been pretty good. They are an all terrain not the really aggressive Nittos. Not a really large selection of load range E tires that are gonna get 50K miles out of them. If you aren't towing anything really heavy, load range d tires are a LOT cheaper!

I like Nitto Terra Grapplers and also Cooper Zeon LTZ. Both are good AT tread, low noise, and long-lasting.

i`ve owned both 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton silverados/sierras and i loved the bfg a/t tires. keep them rotated and balanced and they will give you plenty of miles with comfort and performance.

Our company has gone to only Hankook Dynapro ATM's on our loaded F250 work trucks. We spend alot of time offroad...coal strip pits, construction jobs, logging roads, ect. After many years of keeping records these tires were the best for us. The last 2 sets made it to 73 and 78K. Gotta keep them rotated on heavy trucks.
Nitto Terra grapplers came in second.
