Due to some unforeseen series of events I had me a patch of ground that got away over the summer.
Had a feller come do some mulching in the spring and cleaned up the place nicely. I was trying to follow up and put the final touches but then had some tractor malfunctions, rain, work, just life in general and things got out of hand.

Anyways had this patch that was a pain in the ass. Can't get a tractor or mower to it due to wet ground so I had to get the trusty Stihl Kombi Timmer after it.
Tried the 4 blade Stihl attachment first.

It worked OK but something about the aerodynamics was just pushing grass down and not really gettin 'er done.

Next I went to the .105 trimmer line. That stuff will eat up some stuff but it kept getting wrapped up in the thick stuff.

My next bit of gadgetry was the hedge cutter. Again, it'll cut thinner stuff but also not working how I need.

While I awaited an onslaught from some Viet Cong or possibly a British soldier from Pakenham's group that Ol Hickory sent a runnin, a feller from work recommended this 3 horned brush blade.

Finally success.
That sucker got after it and kept on going. Worked on anything I put it to.
I mistakenly hacked through a sizeable ant bed that I would not recommend doing.
Bounced it off a few Native American artifacts* that were in the field with not discernable damage to the blade.
Highly recommend this purchase if you happen to find yourself in need of such device.

Best thing I’ve found is a sawblade. Took some Auburn engineering to adapt it to my weedeater but it gets er done.

Project Farm recommended the Forrester saw blade.
I'm going to try that on a thick stand of privet I have.
Going to save that for cooler weather.

I have the three point blade. Works good for me when needed

My brush blade is made by Stihl (or at least it carries their name), and it works great. It'll cut through 1" to 1-1/2" hardwood saplings and stays sharp for a long time. I don't remember how many teeth it has, maybe 6-8 and it's configured and looks very much like an 8" circular saw blade. I highly recommend it if any of you discovers that the one you have isn't up to par.

Will this fit on a regular weed eater head? If so how?

I just took the string trimmer head off and there is an adaptor that lets you put it on.

It wasn’t as simple as they make out with that adapter kit. I still had to go to Fastenal or some place to get a not so common washer and employ the vernacular of the gutter to make it work.

Any of ya’ll running by the 3-blades have problems with your Stihl getting excessively hot if you hammer down? I’ve tried a 4-blade briefly, but it was heating up my Stihl weedeater more than I prefer. Maybe I need to take it a tad easier with those?… but if the 3’s work well I’ll have to give it a go.

You have to make sure that the blade fits over that ring on the base. Mine was running a little hot and seemed to be slipping but after adjusting the blade. That was with the 4 blade, i had figured it out by the time I made it to the 3 horned blade.
Also folks said you should run the weedeater wide open, don't work it like a chainsaw, let her rip.

I got my adapter kit at ace hardware and it had everything needed in it. It was 3 or 4 years ago though.

Ok I am not a rocket scientist, I took the trimmer head off and not sure what to do next, I see the bolt but not sure now to get the top piece off?

on my echo i had the choice of the factory oem circular sawblade and a generic 3 blade like that. well I went with the echo oem sawblade and it's pretty much worthless.
