Wow. Never was a big fan but I respect her. She seemed to truly be a good woman.
RIP Dolly. Same. She had a couple of songs I liked but for the most part I don’t care for her music and her personality was too “bubbly” for me. No one is THAT upbeat. That said…she was a true legend.

Let your light shine" means living a visible, positive life of good deeds and kindness so that others can see your values and give honor to God. This is what I always thought of Dolly Parton when I would hear her talk.

We found out while swimming at Dollywood Splash Country today. When we came out, news crews were all over the entrance. People were starting to put out memorials.

She knew who she was and owned it! Such a giving heart. Amazing songwriter. Amazing voice. Great sense of humor and could laugh at herself! I remember one joke she told (I think it was on Letterman or Leno’s show). She was talking about her small shoe size and made the laughing comment that “nothing grows in the shade!” 😂
We need more Dolly’s in the world. 🙏🏻 to her family.

I always enjoyed her. She seemed to truly be honest and never let the media get her forced into her political views. I have no idea if she was conservative or far left liberal. And that’s the way it should be. Her business and she kept it to herself

I didn't know about the BLM support. Aside from that she leaves an incredible legacy. I guess my first memories of her was when she and Porter Wagoner had their prime time show on Saturday nights. That would have been mid 60s I reckon. May she Rest In Peace.

My hat's off to her. She came from being dirt poor to being a multi-millionaire that donated millions to kids, and the southern region when Helene hit, and many other donations we never kept track of. Her heart was golden. RIP girl.

oh yeah she was liberal, she was more gay rights and iam not, but she was probably the least obnoxious about it. Iam a fan of her music. who doesn't like to hear "coat of many colors" while cruising through elkmont tn. I just hate that she spent all her life chasing the dollar till the last minute. I kinda think it would be good to wait a few weeks after her funeral before renaming Stampede back to Dixie Stampede. Don't you think?
