We can thank President Trump for this. It's being reported that he ordered DOJ not to appeal.

I have the dubious distinction of picking up a new can yesterday, the last day of NFA tyranny. She's full auto rated though (my first) so I went to the range today and warmed it up with several AR mags. Fun times.

So……does this mean I could order a 10-12” “pistol” upper from PSA and slap it on my rifle lower and be 100% legal?

No AL has shotgun barrel length restrictions.

Negative. Title 13 quoted below... It's no longer against federal law to possess a short barreled shotgun (or rifle) since the law was deemed unconstitutional.

Section 13A-11-63

Possession, Sale, Etc., of Short-Barreled Rifle or Short-Barreled Shotgun; Applicability.

(a) A person who possesses, obtains, receives, sells, or uses a short-barreled rifle or a short-barreled shotgun in violation of federal law is guilty of a Class C felony.

(b) This section does not apply to a peace officer who possesses, obtains, receives, sells, or uses a short-barreled rifle or a short-barreled shotgun in the course of or in connection with his or her official duties.

Does an Alabama CCW permit still allow you to bypass the background check? Reason I ask (I thought they did away with that allowance a couple years back) is that I was in Academy a few days ago and a guy came in looking at pistols. He told the old man working the counter which one he wanted and had to go get the $ out of the bank. The man working the counted told him when he comes back to bring his ID or CCW (if he had one) when he came in to fill out the paperwork. He told him if he had a CCW he didn't have to go through the background check.

My experience with that is having a CCW only means they don’t run the form 4473 before you leave. You still fill it out and sign it but then you walk out with your purchase immediately

I bought a can today through Silencer Central... I had to fill out all the paperwork, do finger prints and was told I would still have to fill out the 4473 when it arrived to show that it was transferred to me from the store.
Alabama WAS NOT one of the 15 States involved in the Lawsuit so everything is still in place until further directions on how to proceed is passed down for the DOJ and ATF. This is what I was told by my FFL who I've know since grade school. There are a bunch of video on YouTube that also explain this. Right now unless you are a member of GOA or buy directly from one of the plaintiffs you must still follow the same rules that were in effect last week

Depends on the store, several are still running the 4473 and don't blame 'em because what happened the last go around. Hell i used to get delayed everytime but now i usually get proceeded within 15 mins or so

I am hoping Alabama can quickly be added to the list of states under the umbrella of this new arrangement. It would be really nice to walk in and purchase a suppressor just showing my CCW permit.

I assume it's just a matter of a short time and all non-woke states will have the restrictions removed. I could see our senators and house representatives tripping over themselves wanted to take claim for being the ones who got it removed in our state.

Shark Coast is going ahead with suppressors with certain stipulations. Gotta be a member of GOA and go in person being a FL resident.

None of the gun stores in the shoals will sell without the stamp approval

Lots of dust to settle before the any FFL local to me is comfortable with risking their livelihood on the new 'situation'.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Silencer Shop website

FREE STATES (27): NO NFA PROCESS

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

BUY IT. PICK IT UP. SHOOT IT.

In Free States, the court’s ruling is fully in effect. A suppressor now transfers exactly like any other firearm. Here’s the entire process:
BUY IT
Choose your suppressor and your local dealer, then check out online.

Browse the best suppressors by caliber, host firearm, and brand. Not sure which can is right for you? Take our Suppressor Finder Quiz for a personalized recommendation. At checkout, select a Powered by Silencer Shop dealer near you as your pickup location.
PICK IT UP
Pass a standard background check at your dealer, same as any firearm.

When your suppressor arrives at your dealer, you complete the same Form 4473 and NICS background check you’d complete for any firearm purchase. No Form 4, no fingerprints, no photos, no ATF approval wait, and no registry entry.

I went thru buying two the hard way, it was a real pain in my @$$. They really aren’t as great as I expected, nowhere near. My 30 cal SilencerCo Scythe STM sounds like a unsuppressed 10-22. My 10-22 SilencerCo Sparrow 22 does sound a lot less loud though with subsonic rounds

I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin
